Meter Monitor

One of the most useful tools is also one of the simplest. With the use of your electric meter, you can record your energy use for one month. At the end of that period, you will know which kinds of activities add the most to your electric bill.

We suggest you print out this page and write down your meter readings and daily activities for one month, starting on the first day of your billing period. Bookmark this site, then come back and enter the information so we can calculate your daily use and cost of electricity.

Some activities add more than others to your energy usage. You need to record things like: days that you had house guests or any extra use of laundry facilities, air conditioning, or dehumidifiers.
