Walter Scott, Jr. #3, a coal-fueled generating plant, is located in Council Bluffs, Iowa. CIPCO owns 11.5% of this 690 MW plant. Walter Scott, Jr. #4, placed in service June 1, 2007, is a 790 MW facility. This facility is the first plant of its kind in the nation to employ advanced “supercritical” technology that produces steam at higher pressures and temperatures requiring less fuel to generate each megawatt-hour of electricity. CIPCO’s ownership is 9% of this facility.
